Using the converter

Conversions are computed in your browser. The page reads your browser language and time zone on your device to guess which units you mean. If you choose a reading yourself, it is saved in your browser's local storage under the key ozfo.origin, so you do not have to pick it again. You can remove it by clearing this site's data in your browser.

Amounts you type are added to the page address, for example ?q=16.9, so that you can share a link. The address, including that part, is sent to our host whenever it is requested, for example when you reload the page or open a shared link.

Usage statistics

The site counts how features are used, for example which buttons are tapped. Each count contains the event name, the page path and a few small flags such as a unit or a chip name. It does not contain an identifier, a cookie or anything you type. Counts are stored in Cloudflare Workers Analytics Engine, which keeps data for up to 3 months. We use them to learn which features are used, which is our legitimate interest.

To opt out, turn on Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track in your browser. The site then sends no usage counts; pages are still served by Cloudflare as described below. Because the counts carry no identifier, they cannot be linked to one person.

Hosting and security

Cloudflare serves this site. To deliver and protect it, Cloudflare processes your IP address, browser details and the address you request. It may set strictly necessary security cookies, for example when it checks a suspicious request. It also asks browsers to report network errors (Network Error Logging). This site's own code does not read or store IP addresses and sets no cookies. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Email

Messages to the contact address are forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to our mailbox, where they are kept with your address so that we can read and answer them.

What the site does not have

Transfers

Cloudflare processes data on its global network, including in the United States. How it handles that data is set out in its data processing terms.

Your rights

Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, you can ask for access, correction, deletion or restriction of your data, and you can object to its use, by writing to the contact address above. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
